Western Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Western Railway has released a centralized notification (No. RRC/WR/04/2025 Apprentice) for the engagement of Act Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 1487. Eligibility Criteria

1. Age Limit (As on 23.03.2026):

  • Minimum Age: 15 Years

  • Maximum Age: 24 Years

  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST (5 Years) , OBC (3 Years) , PwBD (10 Years) , Ex-Servicemen (as per rules).

2. Educational & Technical Qualification:

  • Educational: Matriculation (10th class) under the 10+2 examination system with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized Board.

  • Technical: ITI certificate in the relevant trade, affiliated to NCVT.

  • Note: Engineering graduates and diploma holders are NOT eligible to apply under this notification 1540.

Selection Process

  • Merit List: The selection will be based on a merit list prepared by taking the average of the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination, with equal weightage given to both.

  • No Written Test: There will be no written test or viva (interview) for this recruitment.

  • Document Verification & Medical Fitness: Final selection is subject to verification of original documents and a Medical Fitness Certificate.
